Lamp Revamp!

These little lamps were headed for a yard sale! Then, I thought about the possibilities with a hot glue gun, scrapbook paper, and embellishments. Moreover, perhaps these could be used in our baby girl's nursery! Hence, the Lamp Revamp!
I had to measure one of the sides of a lamp using a scrap piece of paper. I cut the scrap piece of paper to use as a stencil for the actual scrapbook paper that was to be adhered to the lamp. I chose scrapbook paper that matched the colors of our baby girl's nursery. I used hot glue to put the scrapbook paper on each side of the lamp. Then, I used a ruffled ribbon to seal the seams. I also used a scrapbook piece of paper to place around the stem of the lamp. Ruffled ribbon and a couple of pearls completed the stems. I made the paper flowers for the front sides of the lamp shades by layering pieces of scrapbook paper. Here are the finished products!

I can't wait to see them lit in the nursery!

Third and Final Home Study Appointment Completed!

Whew! What a week! We finalized the next portion of our adoption process. We spent the afternoon at our case worker's house today. She went over more information with us regarding what to expect when we bring our little girl home. She also gave us an overview as to the next steps in the process, as we will not see our case worker again until after we bring our baby girl home! Our case worker will type up our Home Study and submit it along with our I800-A paperwork. We will then wait for its approval by receiving our I797-C! Moving right along! :)

Sweet Shopping Spree!

Nothing like a good shopping spree, right? Well, I found these adorable things for our baby girl! Let's start with this girly girl lamp! It will look so cute in her playroom! You can't go wrong with polka dots and a ruffled flower!
How about this elephant chair! Last one at the store-couldn't resist!
Found this sign at T.J. Maxx. It has the colors of her nursery! Perhaps we can put it on the outside of her door?
I have been looking for an elephant stamp! Hobby Lobby came to my rescue! I plan to use this on all sorts of projects! I can add ribbons and bows, too! Oh, the possibilities are endless with this lil stamp!
Our local craft store had a giant sale this week! 60% off lots of scrapbooking items! I look forward to this sale to stock up on much needed items, especially paper! Here are some of the items I found for our baby girl's scrapbook!
Hobby Lobby had the actual pink scrapbook I had been searching for! This will be our baby girl's first scrapbook! I have already started decorating the front cover of the album. I will finish it in time! Cherished memories for years to come! Cannot wait for the day to add the missing parts: photos!
That's all for now! We have our final Home Study appointment this week! Wish us luck! ~Tava
